On June 19, XingJi Meizu Group, committed to the deep integration of consumer electronics and smart mobility, held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony with Polestar, the global luxury electric high-performance car brand, in Shanghai, officially announcing the establishment of a new joint venture. In this era of smart integration, the collaboration between Polestar and XingJi Meizu Group creates a new paradigm for joint ventures in the Chinese automotive industry, leading the way in a user-centered smart mobility ecosystem. With their combined efforts, the new joint venture aims to become a leading technology company in smart device integration, providing an immersive, multi-device, all-scenario experience tailored to users' fundamental needs.
On June 19, Li Shufu, Chairman of Geely Holding Group, and Li Donghui, CEO of Geely Holding Group and a board member of Polestar, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Thomas Ingenlath, Global CEO of Polestar, and Shen Ziyu, Chairman and CEO of XingJi Meizu Group, represented both parties in the signing.
Li Shufu stated, "In the Chinese market, Polestar has even broader development prospects. In the rapidly evolving landscape of electrification and intelligence, the Chinese market serves as an excellent testing ground for the development of new energy vehicles. Polestar must uphold globalization while focusing on localization, seizing opportunities in the local market, and enhancing technology products, service operations, and user experience. I hope that Polestar's relentless pursuit of performance can also be reflected in user experience, continuously meeting consumer demands. This is also the original intention behind the collaboration between Polestar and XingJi Meizu Group."
Shen Ziyu, Chairman and CEO of XingJi Meizu Group, expressed, "The partnership between XingJi Meizu Group and Polestar represents a deep integration of cutting-edge technology in the electronic ecosystem and the extensive mobility ecosystem. With the support of XingJi Meizu Group's forward-looking technological ecosystem, Polestar will extend its reach in smart mobility, developing products that better adapt to the Chinese market and leading the global smart mobility technology ecosystem."
In its nearly one year since establishment, XingJi Meizu Group has rapidly positioned itself as a leader in the field of smart integration, thanks to its leapfrog development approach, extraordinary growth rate, and quick iterations of diverse results. The company's robust capabilities in full-stack operating system technology have enabled it to seamlessly integrate with the global mobility technology ecosystem, paving the way for multidimensional development across platforms and devices, thereby laying a solid foundation for users' interconnected experiences.
The recently launched Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit operating system further integrates smartphones into vehicles, defining a sixth domain—the smartphone domain—beyond the traditional five domains of automotive design. This innovation achieves deep integration and super synergy between the consumer electronics and automotive industries. The introduction of Flyme Auto changes the previous competitive landscape between in-car systems and smartphones, setting a new benchmark for industry integration.
In the future, XingJi Meizu Group's Flyme Auto in-vehicle human-machine interaction software will provide a seamless smart operating system for Polestar's products aimed at the Chinese market. This system will include in-car applications, streaming services, smart driving, and navigation functions. It will also integrate with smartphones and augmented reality smart devices, as well as user service applications, creating a boundless digital ecosystem. Furthermore, this joint venture will become the exclusive authorized entity for Polestar's sales channels in mainland China.
After six years of development, Polestar has made substantial progress in branding, product development, manufacturing, R&D, sales, and services. In 2022, Polestar delivered a total of 51,000 vehicles worldwide and is expected to continue its growth in 2023, targeting a delivery range of 60,000 to 70,000 vehicles. Currently, Polestar operates in 27 markets globally and has over 150 Polestar spaces, with vehicle ownership exceeding 100,000 units.
Polestar is also continuously expanding its product lineup, with plans to launch a new model every year starting in 2023. The new Polestar 4, developed on Geely's SEA platform, has rapidly moved from R&D to production, with the first deliveries anticipated to China by year-end.
The new joint venture will further strengthen Polestar's growth in the Chinese market, accelerating the path towards smart integration experiences. Under the brand philosophy of "More Natural, Pure Essence," it aims to continuously provide Chinese users with luxury, all-electric, high-performance mobility options.
